HOUSE CALLS

Puppy Socialization and Training – The best time and money spent when you get a new puppy will be on training and socialization. Puppies are a lot of work, but with one-on-one instruction in your home, we can customize the lessons and set you and your puppy up for success. In order to meet the critical need for early socialization with other puppies, I encourage you to also attend the Puppy Play & Train group class.

The fee for 6 sessions is $420, or if you want just one consultation visit to help you get ready for your new puppy, the fee is $85.*  Contact Lisa to arrange a meeting time.

*Cancellations made less than 24 hours in advance of the scheduled meeting time will be charged as a session.

PUPPY BOARDING

Those first weeks and months of a dog’s life are critical in terms of what they learn and how they feel about the world they live in. Leaving your puppy at this stage is not optimal, but may be necessary. Lisa takes puppies into her home where they will be given much love and training so that they return to their families smarter and more confident than when they left. The intent is to not only give the puppies the best possible experience, but to give the owners peace of mind knowing that their new puppies are safe and in good hands.

Fees are $80 per day and an additional $30 for overnights. For more information and arrangements, contact Lisa.

GROUP CLASSES

Puppy Play & Train – The only way puppies acquire the social skills necessary to grow into dogs that safely interact with other dogs, and even enjoy the company of other dogs, is by interacting as puppies with other puppies. They do this in play, which is an important part of this class. We make sure all puppies are safe and do not have bad experiences. We will also cover some basic training and things you need to know to get your puppy off to the best possible start. (Proof of at least one Distemper-Adenovirus 2-Parvo (DAP)vaccine or equivalent.)IMG_0434

ADOLESCENT ANARCHY

Just because your dog looks like an adult doesn’t mean he is one yet! Adolescent dogs are still changing physiologically which often leads to new and unwelcome behaviors. Now is the time for more training and socialization, not less! This single class is a photo and video presentation that teaches you to understand what dogs are saying through body language, what appropriate play looks like, what features to look for when it’s not all about fun, when to intervene, how to intervene, and how to work with a dog that is out of his or her mind with excitement around other dogs. We will discuss the challenges and solutions of training when your dog is distracted. You will get lots of tips and training suggestions in the class and handouts to take home with you. Please join us for an entertaining and informative couple of hours!
